Description
Black pepper is native to the Malabar Coast of India, and the Malabar pepper is extensively cultivated there and in other tropical regions.
Black pepper is produced from the still-green, unripe drupe of the pepper plant. The drupes are cooked briefly in hot water, both to clean them and to prepare them for drying. The drupes are dried in the sun for several days, during which the pepper skin around the seed shrinks and darkens into a thin, wrinkled black layer.
Spice Tales provides authentic pepper cultivated in Kerala. Green peppers are washed, dehydrated and cleared of any impurities. No chemicals are added in any process. The taste and aroma have been sealed in each pepper corn.
Use black pepper as an ingredient in recipes to add flavour and spice to meats, fish, vegetables, salad dressings, soups, stir-fries, pasta, and more. Use of Pepper is considered a type of antioxidant that helps to lower the risk of chronic illnesses like atherosclerosis, cardiovascular disease, and neurological conditions.
